Editorial policy and how we use AI
ABC Culture Center is not a media built for volume. We care about delivering articles for thinking—quietly and with care—rather than breaking news. Here we explain, openly, how we make articles and how we use AI.
What we care about
Not what happened, but why it matters—and how it connects to our daily lives, to culture, history, and place. We want readers to leave with a slightly sharper view of their own. No sensationalism, no over-certainty; we leave room to think.
How we use AI (transparency)
We use AI as a tool behind the scenes. It may help draft articles or organize source material.
But every published article is read, checked, rewritten where needed, and published on the responsibility of our human editors.
- What AI produces is only a draft. Nothing is published automatically.
- Editors verify the facts. Anything uncertain is removed before publication, or clearly noted.
- We do not rely on AI to generate article images; editors choose them.
- We do not depict or generate real people with AI without their permission.
How an article is made
(1) We start from a topic in the world or a question from the editors; (2) we decide the angle from ABC’s point of view; (3) we write a draft; (4) editors review and refine it; (5) we choose an image; (6) we publish. At every step, the final call is made by a person.
On errors
We get things wrong too. When we notice an error, we correct it—quietly, but surely. If you spot something, please let us know.
